I. Minimum Qualifications: The HAC is for an upper-division course (300400) required by the student’s major or minor. The course is offered inperson on the Bowling Green campus. The HAC cannot be approved without
meeting these criteria.

II. Context of Project:


The student demonstrates specifically how the project goes beyond the
standard requirements for the course
The project’s scope is clearly explained with adequate details, as
relevant, such as required format, number of pages, amount of reading,
number of meetings, expected completion date(s), etc.

III. Quality of Project:



The project is about increased complexity, depth/breadth of knowledge,
rather than just lengthening an existing assignment
The project encourages a more “hands on” approach than the student
would otherwise have in the course
The project is of reasonable rigor and size to merit the requested hours
of Honors credit

In order to be approved by the Honors College, each set of criteria must be ranked a 4 or a 5. HACs that earn a score lower than 4 in any criteria category must
be revised by the student and resubmitted for a second review.
