Social Studies Test

We have library on Days 6 and 9.
Week of November 9, 2015

Students will continue our unit on character study. They will notice the roles illustrations play in a story, notice how the main character changes at the climax of a story, notice how the character resolves big trouble, and learn lessons alongside of their character.

Writers will continue our informational writing unit. They will make connections across chapters, balance ideas and facts, research facts, and revise.

This week students begin continue topic 4.
They will use knowledge of even and odd numbers to identify multiplication patterns, use properties to understand division involving 0 and 1, use patterns and facts to find unknown multiplication facts, use multiplication and division facts to find unknown values in equations, and find and answer hidden questions to solve problems.
Students will use geography skills to locate own community on a map, measure the distance between two locations, research and map a place to visit in the United States.
Literacy Tip : Ask your child to explain the problems the character is facing in their reading.
Math Tip: When completing word problems, have your child tell what information is given in the problem .
