Let’s Talk About Your
CHILD’S SPEECH AND LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT
Preschool Speech and Language Services at ErinoakKids offers assessment,
parent education and intervention programs for children who need help with their
speech and language development.
Children entering Junior Kindergarten (Year One) are still eligible for some service at ErinoakKids
but only until they enter Senior Kindergarten (or Year Two).
If you have concerns about your child’s speech and language development, don’t wait to refer!
Referrals are accepted only until December 15th
of the year your child is in Junior Kindergarten (Year One).
HOW DO I KNOW IF I SHOULD CALL?
Use the checklist on the back of this page.
If you answered ‘NO’ to two or more questions, we encourage you to
refer your child to ErinoakKids for a speech and language assessment.
You do not need a doctor’s referral, simply call us directly at:

Speech and language services are available at your child’s school. Services vary
depending on the child’s needs and the needs of the school. Please contact your child’s
teacher or the school Principal for additional information if you have concerns.
If your child is 3 years of age:

Please call us promptly if you have any concerns with your child’s speech and language
development as there is a waiting list for services. There is no cost to you for services. This
service is funded by the Province of Ontario.
