Hello Coogs! Internships are a great way to gain practical experience in a
professional setting before, or after, you graduate. If you are unsure how to go
about finding an internship or are confused about what types of skills you would
like to develop, set an appointment with a career counselor. University
Career Services is open all summer to help you during your career development
process. Whether you are a freshman just finishing up your first semester or are a
senior graduating in May, it is never too early or too late to begin planning for
your future career. What better way to explore opportunities while boosting
your resume than to obtain a summer internship. In this newsletter, you can find

Description: The intern will assist in coordinating, updating and developing
materials for our company’s community relations programs that engage our
locations and communities and are intended to increase awareness and raise
the status of our locations in the minds of the community, while building
enduring relationships.

Graphic Design Intern
Description: The successful candidate will have the following important skills,
traits and experience: • Able to work 15-20 hours a week • Knowledge and
experience in using Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign • Must have a portfolio
portraying strong sense of layout, type and advertising

Desktop & Network Support Intern
Description: The Desktop & Network Support Intern will be assigned to assist
the organization’s IT professional firm with providing computer hardware,
software and technical support .
Qualifications: Must have awareness of the PC hardware components,
desktop operating system software and application software
Compensation: $500/month stipend plus mileage reimbursement per month

Marketing Intern
Description: Individuals will frequently work inside public schools, group homes,
and other community settings where Love146 conducts its prevention
education curriculum.
Qualifications: At least two-three years of study in Education, Social Work, or a
related field

Journalism and Communications Intern
Description: Assist with the development and production of articles and
relevant communications for the TMC News and TMC Pulse Research and
collect data collection

College Experience Intern
Description: Take leadership development courses, attending expert seminars,
and going on exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of different aspects of our
business.
Qualifications: Seeking 4-year degree, 3.0 GPA, at least 12 credit hours
Compensation: $9.75/Hr

Engineering Intern
Description: An Engineering Intern at BIG RED DOG is responsible for assisting
project team members in the preparation and coordination of engineering
design and permitting-related items
Qualifications: Enrolled within the Civil Engineering Program and in good
standing with the University of Houston.
Compensation: $10.00-15 per hour

Sales Intern
Description: Research prospective clients through several strategies including:
internet, trade show lists, referrals, yellow pages, various professional directories,
etc.

IT Intern
Description: Assist with computer room clean-up at the corporate office.
This involves decommissioning and recycling of old server/storage
infrastructure. Some heavy lifting might be necessary.

Science, Computer Information Systems or Electrical Engineering
Compensation: $15-20/Hr
