This book presents a selection of French texts from Hugo's many writings with
annotation and notes in English that aid exploration of the extraordinary mind of this
nineteenth-century French thinker. Topics range across private and public concerns,
with love, grief, God, liberty, social justice, and war forming only a partial list. The
book also features twenty-five of Hugo's watercolors and drawings.
You are welcome to bring a bag lunch. Dessert and drinks will be provided.
