The General Assembly,
Alarmed at the number of reported and unreported cases of girls between the ages of 15 and 19
being abducted and forced into marriage,
Taking note that although primary school enrollment rates for girls have increased in the past
decade, significant gaps in secondary and college education remain,
Alarmed by the fact that in 2014, women still comprise only 21.4 percent of elected
representatives in governments worldwide,
1. Expresses its hope that all countries around the world form programs and health centers
for women who are victims of domestic violence and abuse, the funding for which should
be provided by pulling 2% out of each member states’ military budget;
2. Further recommends beginning a sponsorship program, in which corporations fund young
women’s higher education in exchange for the recipients’ commitment to work at said
corporation for a specified period of time;
3. Encourages the governments and citizens of UN member states to elect more women
representatives to their respective governments.
