Expect to see Math and Reading homework every night, but Friday. For reading, your child is expected to read Mon. - Thurs. for a minimum of 20 minutes. They will be responsible for a reading response every night, Monday- Thursday. Incomplete Homework If you student does not complete their homework, they will have to make-it up the following night. An incomplete homework slip will be sent home. After three homework misses, the student will call home and a meeting will be set between us to develop a plan to help your student complete assignments. Each month your child has a clean slate. Binders, Pencils and Supplies We have organized 3-ring binders for all students. They understand where to put their papers and handouts and it is important that they keep it organized throughout the year. Since we have tables and not individual desks, please keep extra materials at home unless they are requested. Students can also keep markers, pencils and other art supplies in their book bag and take them out when necessary. Reviewing your child’s homework sheet Each night please look over your child’s homework sheet. Homework is written down in the morning at the end of the day I review homework assignments and remind students of what to take home with them and pack-up. Please make sure your child puts assignment papers back in the binder to come back to school. Snack Time Our working snack time will be around 10 o’clock before star time since our lunch time is later in the afternoon at12:35. A small, healthy snack is appropriate. I will not be providing snacks for the students unless it is a party or special occasion. ***MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT ON SEPTEMBER 14th AT 7:00*** Any time you have a question or a concern, please feel free to e-mail me or call the school.
