CHILD CARE PROGRAMS
Various child care services are available at many Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board schools. All
programs are licensed by the provincial government and operated by autonomous child care agencies.
Admission policies for all child care programs and the Board's schools are completely separate. Admittance
to one does not automatically assure admittance to the other.
School-Age and Full Day Kindergarten Extended Day Programs
(Before and After School Child Care]
The optional Extended Day Program for 4 and 5 year olds operates in accordance with the Education Act
requirements. Where not enough registrations are received to implement a separate Extended Day
program, 4 and 5 year olds may be accommodated in the 6 to 12 year-old Child Care Program operating at
that school. Where no Extended Day Program is presently available, interest will continue to be monitored.
Should interest increase, the situation may be reviewed at such time.
Before and After School Child Care Programs will operate on school days from 7:30 a.m. to school start and
school end to 6:00 p.m. Participation is optional and subject to daily and Professional Days fees. The
Government of Ontario has confirmed that fee subsidies will be available for families who qualify for financial
assistance. Child care centre operators should be contacted at the phone numbers indicated on the chart
below for information regarding all aspects of these programs, including: fees, hours of operation, availability
