Week of: September 15th
Math: We will continue working on Chapter 1. We will focus on
addition strategies as well as mental math for addition. Please
practice your addition and subtraction facts at home.
Language Arts: Our story this week is called Pepita Talks Twice.
It is a fictional story about a little girl who speaks English and
Spanish. We will focus on the narrative elements of the story as
well as making and confirming predictions.
In writing we will work on writing statements and
questions. We will be using colorful, descriptive words in our
writing. Our spelling pattern this week is short I, o, and u.
Social Studies: We will be finishing our first chapter in Social
Studies next week. We have learned a lot about why people
live in communities and how they depend on each other.
** If you have not sent in an address to mail Flat Stanley to,
please try to do send that in as soon as you can. We are almost
finished writing our letters and need to get our envelopes
ready!
