The unit will be contextualized within meaningful topics identified by the program's Scope & Sequence and will integrate reading, writing, speaking, and listening standards. Participation will be enhanced by attending in program teams. Follow-up will be provided for implementation guidance. 6 PD hours + 1 extra PD hour for those who take the webinar Selecting Appropriate Text John Strucker The ability to read complex text is an important predictor of college and career readiness, and helping learners master complex text is at the core of implementing the College and Career Readiness ELA Standards. Take part in hands-on activities to explore the following areas: how to determine reliability, how to use CCRSAE rubrics to analyze text complexity for informational and literary texts, and how to help students tackle text complexity at the word, sentence, paragraph, and whole text level.
