The unit will be contextualized within meaningful topics identified by the program's Scope & Sequence and will integrate reading, writing, speaking, and listening standards. Participation will be enhanced by attending in program teams. Close Reading can be extremely engaging, productive and confidenceboosting for the struggling reader and the experienced reader alike. Follow-up will be provided for implementation guidance. Take part in hands-on activities and practice to explore the following areas: how to determine reliability, how to use CCRSAE rubrics to analyze text complexity for informational and literacy texts, and how to help students tackle text complexity at the word, sentence, paragraph, and whole text level. This face-to-face training will be followed up with a webinar.
