The inaugural 2012 Co-Design Summer School was a great
success. Six students participated and produced a significant
amount of work in a short period of time. The students focused
on a scale bridging approach to a steady-state neutron transport
problem. Their work is documented in a technical report and all
of their code (MatLab, C, C++, OpenCL) has been released as
open source at GitHub. Building on the success of the 2011
school we are currently recruiting students to participate in the
2013 Co-Design Summer School. The school is a ten-week
program designed to bring together students from multiple
disciplines to form an integrated team tasked with solving a codesign problem from a scientific domain of interest to the
laboratory. An additional goal is to recruit outstanding students
and expose them to the challenging and stimulating technical
environment at Los Alamos. We're interested in graduate
students from areas such as computer science, nuclear
engineering, physics, and applied math, etc. If you, or someone
you know, is interested in applying to the 2013 school

The MUREP Scholarship is a competitive scholarship
opportunity that focuses on underserved and
underrepresented students in the Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Math (STEM) disciplines, thereby
addressing the critical shortage of qualified STEM
professionals that the nation is facing. Eligible students
include rising sophomores and juniors at the undergraduate
level. The goal is to address the agency's mission-specific
workforce needs and target areas of national need in
minority STEM representation.
maria.c.lopez@nasa.gov The NC Space Grant is now accepting applications from
undergraduate and graduate students for scholarships and
research fellowships. Students from all STEM majors are
encouraged to apply.

NASA recently inducted 86 top-performing interns into the 2013
NASA Student Ambassadors Virtual Community. Their selection
is part of the agency's effort to engage undergraduate and
graduate students in science, engineering, mathematics and
technology, or STEM, research and interactive opportunities.
This fifth group of student ambassadors, known as Cohort V,
includes interns from 32 states and 70 universities

One of NASA’s most prestigious and successful student research
programs, having recently ranked among the top ten best
internships in the nation. Designed to bridge the gap between
academic concepts and real-world experience, LARSS creates
opportunities for students to come to NASA Langley Research
Center (LaRC) in Hampton, Virginia to conduct robust research
and work on exciting projects while working side-by-side with http://www.nianet.org/LARSS-‐
