We ask that all parents and student join remind for 1st period
What is remind? (description from Apple app store): Remind (formerly Remind101) offers teachers a
free, safe and simple way to instantly text students & parents. Teachers, coaches, or administrators can
send reminders, assignments, homework, assessments, or motivational messages directly to students' &
parents' phones. Messaging is safe because phone numbers are kept private. Teachers save time because
they can send quick, one-way Announcements, or opt-in to Chat for personalized communication with
a student or parent. For students and parents, Remind provides an easier way to stay informed outside
of the classroom.
How to join:
Option 1:-using the website
1. Go to https://www.remind.com/
2. Click on I am student or parent
3. Put in the course code: orourston1 (note: the @ symbol should already be there if not the code
is @orourston1)
4. Join the class
5. Put in your cell phone number or email address
6. Press enter
7. Follow any further steps they give you
Option 2:- send text message
1. Open your text messages
2. Start a new message
3. Enter number 81010
4. In the message put @orourston1
5. Send the text message
6. Follow any directions sent back to you
Option 3:- send email
1. Open a new email
2. Send a blank email to: orourston1@email.remind.com
Option 4:- download the app
Schoology
All students are expected to join schoology for 1st period.
We also ask parents to join using their parent code.

How to join:
For students:
1. Go to www.schoology.com
2. Click sign up
3. Click student
4. Enter your class code: GJQK4-5J2ZH
5. Enter your:
 first name
 last name
 username or email
 make a password
 confirm your password
 enter your birthday
 uncheck the box to receive updates
6. Click register
For Parents: (Your student MUST be registered prior to you getting a parent code.)
1. Go to www.schoology.com
2. Click sign up
3. Click on the parent button
4. Enter your access code. This code is given to you by on of your instructors, and it should be
similar to this: xxx-xxx-xxx
5. Fill out the form with your information.
6. Click register to complete
**** NOTE: Please download the app to your phone and/or tablet so you have access to it other then
when you log on. It is important that you are able to receive notifications, messages and anything else
sent out by your teachers.***
