OVERVIEW: Gap Inc. is a leading global specialty retailer offering clothing, accessories, and personal care products for
men, women, children, and babies under the Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta and Intermix brands. The Gallatin
Campus is the largest of Gap’s distribution centers in North America. The Industrial Engineering team is
responsible for managing labor standards and process improvements across the three facilities on campus.
SUMMARY: Work with Campus Engineering staff to build and maintain labor standards, deliver process
improvements, and assist in project implementation.
1. Working Relationship / Communication:



Effective working relationships must be maintained with all DC employees and internal and external customers.
Demonstrates proven written and verbal communication skills in the execution of daily correspondence and methods
documentation.
Displays teamwork abilities and maintains a positive attitude.
2. Work Measurement, Standards, Performance Measures:



Must be knowledgeable in the use of conventional time study techniques.
Establishes the standards allowable hours for all production jobs.
Coordinates priority list with operations and conducts approval and training meetings with operation’s personnel.
3. Methods Engineering, Process Design, Value Analysis:


Analyzes methods and procedures to ascertain the most efficient way to perform all warehouse tasks.
Consults with the responsible department supervisors to establish an agreement that the proposed changes are practical,
utilize cost reduction techniques and human factors engineering.
4. Facility Engineering


AutoCad experience preferred (not required and can be trained)
Knowledge of design and management of facility projects.
5. Statistical / Production Reporting:

Provides guidance to the Methods Analyst and Statisticians to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of department
and employee productivity information to management.
6. Special Projects:


Assists DC Management on special projects by conducting feasibility studies.
Responsible for acting as project manager on implementation of special project work.

Computer Skills with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word applications required. Access and / or SQL
preferred
Excellent Communication Skills
