Hofstra Law in D.C. (HLDC) Externship Program Application Enrollment in the Hofstra Law in D.C. (HLDC) Externship Program is by application only, and is limited to students who will be in the third year of law school during their semester in Washington, D.C. In addition, students must demonstrate that they have satisfied most or all of their graduation requirements, including having taken and passed Lawyers’ Ethics or its equivalent. Students must not be at risk of exceeding the limit of non-classroom hour credits if they enroll in this program. Enrollment is limited to ten students per semester. To apply to HLDC, students must submit this application form, a current resume, a writing sample of no more than 10 pages, and an academic transcript by the end of January of their second year, if they wish to participate during the fall semester of their third year.
