MAIN LINE COLLEGE FAIR - Tuesday, May 3rd, from 6:30 to 9:00 PM, there will be a college fair at
Villanova University. Over 140 colleges will be present to answer your college choice questions. 10th,
11th and 12th graders and their parents are invited to attend and it will be held at The Pavilion at
Villanova. This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about what colleges want and what is
available to you. Hope you can attend!
SUMMER ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES
For information on summer enrichment opportunities, see Mrs. Naismith in the Career Center.
SAT IIs OR SUBJECT TESTS – Any sophomore who is currently enrolled in level 1 or 2 Pre-Calculus
with Trig should consider registering to take the Math 2 SAT subject test on June 4th . Many competitive
colleges and universities are encouraging and/or requiring students to take at least 2 subject tests. It
makes sense to sit for this exam when the content is freshest in your minds and when you are studying for
your finals. Register on www.collegeboard.com by May 5th. You can take up to 3 subject exams at one
time. If you have any questions, speak to your guidance counselor.
NAVIANCE FAMILY CONNECTION ACCOUNT – All sophomores should complete their “Career
Interest Profiler” and the “Do What You Are” on the Careers tab. Also, take advantage of the numerous
resources available to you through this website like updating your resume, searching for colleges, and
investigating career options.

DCCC SUGGESTIONS - Advice from the former Assistant Director of DCCC:
Considerations When Choosing a College:
Location: How far from home am I willing to go?
Do I want an urban or suburban campus?
Private or Public: Does it matter whether I go to a private or public institution?
2-Year or 4-Year: Can I get the degree I want in 2 years or 4 years?
Majors
Size
Gender: Do I want a single-sex school or a co-ed mix?
Cost: How much am I able and willing to pay to get a college education?
