National Debating Championships
Two students from Penticton Secondary School, Michael Beckett and Wes
Hopkin, were chosen to be part of the team representing BC at the
National Debating Championships held February 2 to 5, 2006 in Montreal.
Teacher Sharon Lindstrom was chosen as a coach/chaperone. They will
provide highlights of their trip at the meeting.
3.2
Penticton Secondary School Drama
Teacher Heather Ayris and her drama cast and crew staged an incredible
performance of the Mumberely Inheritance. Trustees will have an
opportunity to witness a portion of this dramatic presentation at the board
meeting.

2006-07 Budget
The Ministry of Education has advised that the February 1, 2006 public
school block announcement will occur in conjunction with the 2006-07
preliminary funding announcement scheduled for March.

Planning and Goal Review Session
Arrangements are being made for a planning and goal review session to
be held on March 1, 2006. Up to four representatives from each partner
group have been invited and an invitation has been extended to student
representatives from each secondary school.

The board is required by May 31, 2006 to approve and circulate the
