GattunuttieatiaHd,
Year-Round . . .
Brotherhood Week ended on February 27th. We
have been urged to consider the principles behind
the term "Brotherhood.'' We have been uracil
not to limit the spirit of brotherhood to one week
of the year. Before we can c a n y the -pirii of
brotherhood through the year, as it is Imped that
we will do, we must begin with an examination nf
our own f clings. Before we can work with cbil
ilren and other people, we must have faced, out
selves, the problems of "grouping, and "geneiali/ing."
We must begin a fight within ourselves
against hearsay and prejudice.
As teachers, we will meet young people nf all
backgrounds. We need to teach impartially. The
feeling of brotherhood should not lie limited to
fair treatment of sonic group that we do not know
very well. It must begin with the people we meet
everyday in the commons, the halls, the l i b r a e .
We can then extend this emotion of brother]

successfllllv to our classes.
