EXCELLENCE TODAY FOR TOMORROW SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT – June 2011 This is my last Superintendent’s Report to the community via a Legislative Meeting. It is difficult to know what to say. But you know, of course, that I want to offer a heartfelt good-bye after 15 years of service in Rose Tree Media, seven of which have been as Superintendent. And now, the end is near, and I face the final day. I’ll state my case of which I’m certain, I’ve lived seven years that were full, I planned each charted course, each careful step along the highway, and more, much more than this, I did it my way. Regrets, I’ve had a few, but then too few to mention. Yes, there were times I’m sure you knew I felt I bit off more than I could chew, but through it all, when there was doubt, I faced it all and I stood tall. I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried, I’ve had my fill, my share of losing, my share of winning. And now, as I say “good bye” I focus in on what really matters. To think I did all that and may I say not in a shy way, oh, no, oh no, not me, I did it my way. For what is a woman, what has she got, if not herself then she has not, to say the things she truly feels and not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I always rose and did it my way. Yes, it was my way. (Apologies to Paul Anka) Thank you Rose Tree Media School Community for a wonderful seven years.
