The Mediator
A mediator is a neutral third party,
trained in a specific process to assist
people in solving their disputes. Mediators
guide disputants through a discussion
and possibly a resolution of differences
but do not offer or impose solutions.
Effective mediators are able to learn the
skills to be unbiased, empathetic, and
discreet throughout the process while
keeping an open mind, actively listening,
and handling a range of emotions with
all parties.
About the
Instructors

problems in a safe, productive, neutral
environment. It seeks to create win-win
results by giving everyone involved an
opportunity to air their views and shape
the solution. Mediation works because
