Part II The Referendum Campaign #1 Get the support of the Board of Education #2 Survey the Community •Do voters understand the need for certain projects? •Are voters willing to raise their taxes to fund these projects and at what dollar level? •Are there any “hot” topics that could derail this referendum? #3 Build a Campaign Organization •Identify a trusted community member to lead the referendum campaign. •Identify five strong campaign supporters. •Plan a big “kick-off” event. Possible Committees Scheduling Committee: Schedules presentations Presenter Committee: Trains presenters and assigns presenters to presentations Budget/Finance Committee: Raise funds so that the referendum does not use school funds Telephone Committee: Reminds supporters to vote on election day.
