operation reassurance
About Operation Reassurance
For some older adults, relocating to live with family/
friends is not an option. Living alone may help maintain
independence; however, there may be times when
assistance is needed.
Registration
To join Operation Reassurance or for more information,
contact The Muller Institute for Senior Health at
215-481-2571.
Operation Reassurance, a free service of Abington
Health, provides participants age 60 and older with the
assurance that every day (seven days a week, including
holidays) they can speak with a trained staff member to
make sure that they are safe and sound. The goal is to
enable seniors to live independently and feel confident
and secure.
Please provide the following information:
• Your name, address and telephone number
• Medical conditions, if applicable
• Names and phone numbers of two people who can
be contacted if we do not receive your daily call and
cannot get in touch with you
• Your local police department phone number to
contact in case of an emergency
How it Works
Every morning between the hours of 7 and 9:30 a.m.,
participants call a trained member of the Operation
Reassurance team. The staff member will ask the senior
how they are doing and if all is well. If the participant
does not call during these hours, a member of the
Operation Reassurance team will call the person at
home. If there is no response or an emergency, the team
member will call for help immediately.
