Walton Farm Wildcat Tales August 18, 2015 Dear Walton Farm Families,February/March/April 2005 Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year! This school year will be another year to cherish, enjoy, and celebrate great accomplishments. The Walton Farm staff and I have planned many exciting and valuable learning experiences for our 600 children and their families. We will begin our school year with our New Family Orientation on Thursday, August 27th at 6:30pm. Families new to Walton Farm will have the opportunity to meet key staff members, learn about our caring community and tour our beautiful school. Our official first day of school is September 1st. The day will begin with our Welcome Back festivities at 8:20am in our parent drop-off area (weather permitting). Families are invited to attend with their children as we celebrate the new school year. Kindergarteners and their families will receive invitations with specific times to meet their teacher and tour their classroom. These activities create a fun learning environment for promoting school success. Please support our efforts by continuing to be engaged in your child’s education. Collaborate and communicate with your child’s teacher and know that my door is always open to you. Begin your communication by reviewing the papers sent to you during the first week of school. Read the Parent Handbook and the other items marked “keep” and complete and return all items marked “return” - especially the emergency contact form - by Tuesday, September 8th. Our Back to School Night will be held on Wednesday, September 9th at 6:30pm. Please attend this event to meet your child’s teacher and learn the specifics regarding the curriculum and learning expectations. Details will be communicated in a future correspondence. Our Home and School Association is a vital part of our school, sponsoring many activities to enhance our school community. Support these events and attend our Home and School meetings to learn how you can assist their efforts. Join us for our first Home and School meeting on Thursday, September 17th at 6:30pm in our library. Childcare will be provided. Please join me in welcoming several of our new staff members: Katlyn Stumpo, who will be a new AM and PM Kindergarten teacher; Megan Britton, who is our new first grade teacher; Ron Martiello and Stephanie Wolf as our new third grade teachers; Brittany McLearnon, who will be our new Life Skills Support teacher; and Stephanie Douglas, our new MDS teacher. As we welcome our new staff, we extend best wishes to Kathy Reed, Janelle Lampitoc, Ellen Allen, Sue Bissett, and Denise Chalmers. Our motto is “Learning for All… Whatever it Takes” and we have consistently demonstrated our ability to enhance learning opportunities for all students. Our accomplishments are not the result of an individual but rather the result of our collaboration and commitment to continuous improvement. The Walton Farm staff and I greatly appreciate your continued support and look forward to the success our collaboration will foster for every child we serve. Sincerely, Marc Gosselin, Jr. Principal www.npenn.org/waltonfarm
