All rights reserved. Day 2 of 10 Page 1 Production Clerk Exploration Production Clerks schedule the flow of work and materials in the manufacturing facility. They also control materials ordered that are required for production in the facility. Production Clerks are responsible for the products being completed on time and shipped to the consumer. They control the movement of materials and products on the production floor. Production Clerks also schedule a change of products to be produced. Terms Expedite - to accelerate the process or progress Distribution - the act of giving or delivering something to people Inventory - a supply of goods that are stored in a place Schedule - a written or printed list of things and the times when they will be done Work Order - a commission to purchase, sell, or supply goods, or to perform work Inventory Control - the supervision of supply, storage, and availability of an item Investigation Your manufacturing plant is starting to develop a new product line. You are asked to review the plans for the product and set up schedules for ordering materials, production time estimates, and a possible delivery date for the product. The company wants to produce 500 Wooden Cube Carts every 30 days. You have a list of estimated times to assemble the parts of the carts. The cost of the parts will be given to allow you to figure the cost of each cart. Use the following chart to complete the Student Worksheet.
