- Identify and explore career opportunities within the GPA Cluster
- Identify and discuss the seven pathways within the GPA Cluster

- Introduction computer-based presentation (computer, projector,
screen, etc.)
- Career Pathway Matching Activity
- Vocabulary List
Introduction/Engage
- Initiate a class discussion by asking each student to give one
example of a career in the GPA cluster without repeating another
student’s response
Activities
- Lecture: Introduction computer-based presentation
- Discuss upcoming career module experiences and expectations
- Assignment: Career Pathway Matching Activity
- Review and distribute GPA Career Module Vocabulary List
Lesson Closure
- Review the seven GPA Pathways using questioning techniques
- Review and collect Career Pathway Activity sheets
- Homework: Instruct students to begin searching for vocabulary

Efficiency: how well something is done or someone works
Maintenance: taking care of or fixing something
Media: means of communication using radio, TV, internet resources,
newspapers, books, magazines---usually to influence someone
Procedures: steps taken to solve a problem or do a job
Coordination: making sure there is a proper order and relationship between
workers or departments
Monitoring: making sure others in working situations do their jobs correctly
Analyze: to critically examine a problem or solution
Interpret: to understand or giving meaning to something
Perceptiveness: having a keen sense of understanding and solutions
Operate: to work, perform, or function

Compile: to put information together
Evaluate: to see how well someone does something or how well things work
Precedents: something that happened before that people look to in the future
Agenda: a list, plan, or outline of things to be done
Draft: the first form of something that needs to be worked on later
Expenditure: how much is being spent over time
Legislative: relates to the enactment or making of laws
Transcribing: writing down something that is spoken to you
Dictation: speaking to someone who writes what you say
Negotiate: making deals with someone
Regulations: laws, rules, or constraints which say what can and cannot be done
to certain things or at certain times
Resolve: fixing a problem
Inquire: asking questions or trying to find out something
Deduce: to assume or come up with a solution based on facts
Interpret: to give meaning to something
Compliance: doing what others tell you to do or have things a way you are told
Discriminatory: goes against someone based on race, sex, gender, age,
disability, etc.
Eligibility: says who can and cannot get certain things
Liability: money owed, debts, obligations, or reasonability for something
Violation: doing something wrong that is against the law or rules
Conformity: making sure everything is the same
Appraise: see how much something is worth
Transactions: records of actions done by people, businesses—usually with
banking or money in some form or fashion
