The International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium (IATRC):
• A unique international association of agricultural trade researchers and
policy practitioners.
• Over the past 25 years, the IATRC has established itself as one of the
premier institutions for advancing the knowledge of agricultural trade and
trade policy.
• These advances have informed both policy formulation and public debate.
The objectives of the IATRC are to:
• Enhance the quality and relevance of international agricultural trade
research and policy analysis;
• Encourage collaborative research;
• Facilitate communication among trade researchers and analysts drawn from
universities, government agencies and the private sector in a range of
countries;
• Improve public understanding of international trade and trade policy issues.
The Center for International Food and Agricultural Policy (CIFAP):
• Headquartered in the Department of Applied Economics at the
University of Minnesota.
• Open to participation by interested faculty from all colleges and
departments of the University.
The principal objective of CIFAP:
• To provide leadership in research to improve our knowledge of the
international aspects of food, agriculture, nutrition, natural and
human resources, and the environment.
This knowledge is disseminated in a variety of teaching, training and
public service efforts.
• Farm Foundation:
• Serves as a catalyst for sound public policy by providing objective
information to foster deeper understanding of issues shaping the future
for agriculture, food systems and rural regions.
• Farm Foundation does not lobby or advocate. The 79-year reputation for
objectivity allows the Foundation to bring together diverse stakeholders
for discussions on economic issues and public policies.
• Farm Foundation’s primary product:
• Comprehensive, objective information.
• Through such activities as conferences, workshops and Farm
Foundation® Forums: invite stakeholders to discuss evolving issues
impacting agriculture, the food system and rural regions.
• Discussions may include options to address those issues and the
potential consequences of those options.
