2. PROJECT OVERVIEW
2.1. Project Description and Objectives
The energy consumption is optimized through the implementation of low-cost operational enhancements. Projects include:
(1) Installation of VFDs in the supply and return fans
(2) Outdoor air temperature lockout
(3) Fan DDC integration
(4) Night time setback for for radiation and domestic hot water
(5) Air handling unit (AHU) scheduling and optimal stop
(6) Leg/lag configuration for reheat and radiation pumps
(7) Occupancy sensors for washroom, lecture hall and classroom
2.2. Project Outcomes (List any expected environmental, economic, and/or social outcomes of the projects)
The project is expected to reduce the utility cost by $24,000 and GHG emissions by about 105 tonnes annually.
2.3. Key Risks
Building occupants may complain about the schedule change. Through consultation and communication with the occupants, the
schedule can be fine tuned accordingly.
