This could cause many issues in rolling capability and rolls’ wear control, which are nowadays not clearly understood. It is thus of prime interest to construct a numerical tool to describe different kinds of dissymmetry in rolling and to reveal their consequences on both the process and rolled products. The purpose of the internship is to develop and validate both Finite Element (FE) and analytical models for dissymmetric rolling. The mission : 1. Use and contribute to improve an existing FE model for dissymmetric rolling ; 2. Develop analytical or semi-analytical models; 3. Carry out the comparative study between the developed models and/or with industrial data; 4. Perform parametrical study: evaluate the impact and consequence of difference kinds of dissymmetry on the process. The environment: The internship will be carried out in the Downstream Process (DP) department of Process center at Maizières-lès-Metz. Inside the DP department, the student will work in an international environment involving around fifty specialists, R&D engineers and technicians.
