Beginners Ultrasound for Regional Anaesthesia A Practical two day course: Day 1 Tuesday 16th June 2015
UCLH Education Centre, 250 Euston Rd.
The sonoantomy lectures will be delivered by expert regional anaesthetists.
We will focus on essential knowledge of the ultrasound machine, probe
handling and safe needling techniques. Live model scanning of the upper
limb, lower limb, belly and back will be led by anaesthetists experienced in
UGRA. We will teach the 5 essential blocks for everyday UGRA practice

Anatomy Department, Rockefeller Building, 21 University Street, WC1E 6DE

The cadaveric anatomy teaching will be led by both anaesthetists and
surgeons on both cadavers and prosected anatomy specimens. There will be
an opportunity to both ultrasound scan and practice in-plane and out-of-plane
needling techniques on the cadavers.

Food and drinks Food and soft drinks will be provided at lunchtime on both
days, a vegetarian option will be provided to those who have requested it.
Tea, coffee and water will be freely available all day Wednesday and
Thursday morning. Food and drink is not allowed in the anatomy lab.
Photos We will be taking pictures for our new website throughout the course.
Please make it clear to a member of the faculty if you do not want any images
used on the internet. Also, laboratory guidelines do not permit photography in
the anatomy lab.
EDRA (European Diploma of Regional Anaesthesia). This course gives
you eligibility to sit the part one (MCQ) of the EDRA, and also provides the
cadaveric course prerequisite for the part two. For further details, please
check the ESRA website.
