APPROVAL OF NEW QUESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Introduction
The Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunication Union
(Minneapolis, 1998), considered the need for the approval of some Questions and
Recommendations using an alternative approval process where some Questions and
Recommendations may be approved by both Member States and Sector Members.
The Conference, recognizing that each Sector has procedures already in place, invited each Sector
to develop its own guidelines, procedures and working methods for the approval of Questions and
Recommendations using the alternative approval process.
Australia has developed a draft alternative approval process that appears in step form in
Attachment 1, and as a flowchart diagram in Attachment 2.
