About Me Sarah Bayot is a designer, entrepreneur, connector of dots, and founder of Kicheko Goods based in Washington, DC. Living in Adams Morgan and working out of the Artists’ Lofts in a creative co-work studio, her work is inspired by travels, play, fashion, the interplay of nature and urban environments, mixed materials, and dynamics of change. Finding her way into design and social entrepreneurship by a non-traditional path, Sarah came to the District to study at George Washington University, eventually completing her M.A. in International Affairs & Development. Her volunteer work very much influenced by her studies, Sarah has led multiple teams to travel and work with communities in DR Congo on orphan care and education for over 4 years through faith-based partnerships. With a desire to explore and express creativity and understand socially conscious business, Sarah launched Kicheko Goods, a line of small-batch jewelry that supports education in DR Congo. When not working all hours to build the business, Sarah loves good conversations with whiskey or wine, eating through & exploring DC with her husband, and the excited calm of Saturday mornings. About Kicheko Kicheko Goods is a socially conscious brand that designs and makes distinctive pieces that invest in education. Inspired by travels, fashion, a sense of play, urban and natural environments, and dynamics of change, Kicheko’s designs experiment with mixed materials to offer the wearer something beautiful, complementary and unique. Kicheko’s founding partnership is with Mango Tree School, a primary school educating over 200 students in eastern Congo. Each piece purchased sends one child to school for one month. Kicheko can be found online, at DC’s fine and independent boutique - Redeem, at curated pop-up craft markets along the East Coast, and in the near future, select retailers nationwide.
