license; no additional terminal certification or type approval;
and customs arrangements.
• Informal consultation meetings: ITU & EC/CITEL/APT.
• IMTEM = IMT “Electronic Mark” (terminal identifier w/
regulatory data to be used only where legally required)
Actions towards an agreed international
framework to facilitate global circulation (cont’d):
• Review of existing mechanisms: e.g.,
European Directive R&TTE (1999/5/EC)
that regulates assessment of conformity
of equipment, rules to avoid interference
in view of terminal circulation, self
certification of conformity by
manufacturers, etc.
