Brief History of Business

Intelligence at Tri-C

• MS Access is the only way to generate needed reports o All databases run against PROD

• SAS implementation in 2005 o Abandoned in 2007 (Time, resources and money)

• Microsoft Reporting Services in 2007 o Contracted with outside consulting firm – went out of business o Met with stakeholders to determine their needs

• Still reliant on MS Access databases for reporting…1,500+

• Ellucian ODS/EDW and Argos implementation Fall 2011

• We flipped the 80/20 – Paradigm Shift – Culture of Inquiry

• College-wide number of users is 550+ o Require a minimum of Report Viewer training of all users through our internal talent engagement system.

• College-wide number of reports created is 325+ o Approximately 200 automated reports where a .csv or .pdf file is emailed to the end user.

• Users from Board of Trustees, President, Campus Presidents, Deans, Analysts and Front Line Staff.

• Data Governance process and procedures for Production
