History Measure ID DIR-1 Written assignment in take home paper in first month of semester. Students will be provided with a detailed description of their success in each of the following Program Outcomes: Outcome 1, Outcome 2, Outcome 3, Outcome 4 components contributing to their grade. The data from this measure ID will be compared to data from a second paper, measuring the same outcomes, taken at the end of the course. This will allow us to track development within the course. The data from this measure ID will be compared to data from DIR-3. This will allow us to track development within the course. This data from DIR-4 will be compared to the same measures from a SEPARATE compulsory course taken by majors, in later years of their cycle. This will enable us to track progress over the Major itself, as well as within particular courses. DIR-5 Assessment of communication and oral skills via presentations and/or directed discussions. TWO assessments will be made in the course and delivered to the students in grade form. The first assessment will be delivered in the first half of the semester, the second assessment in the second half of the semester. The data will be compared to discern progress within the course. The data from DIR 5 will be compared to data from same measure ID in a later course within the major, to demonstrate and compare progress over the major as a whole. DIR-6 Exam in which different questions will be assessed according to different Programme Outcomes. The students will be informed which outcomes to address in any particular question. Their success on each question will be graded according to that outcome, in addition to an overall grade for the exam. This measure will be compared with data from an exam at the end of the course.
