The Psychology minor gives students an overview of the major concepts, theories and methods of the
discipline of psychology. Students are able to understand the relevance of psychological concepts and
perspectives to understanding and explaining thoughts, emotions and behavior, and applying that
knowledge to real-world settings. Students are encouraged to use the elective courses in the minor to
complement their major area of study as psychology is relevant for many careers, including nursing,
business, teaching, biology, human services, justice studies and sociology.
