Student Name _________________________ Banner ID ____________________ Behavior Intervention Specialist Certificate Program (BISCP) Plan of Study The BISCP is a graduate certificate offered through the Special Education program and awarded by Kent State University. Although it is not designated as an Ohio Department of Education certificate program, the coursework component of the BISC Program has been approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as meeting the course work component of the requirements to be eligible to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Examination. If you plan to pursue designation as a BCBA you will need to complete the following: 1. Complete a master’s or doctoral degree in a BACB-approved field (e.g., Special Education), 2. Complete the BACB-approved course work sequence contained in the BISCP, and 3. Complete a BACB-approved supervised practicum (see www.bacb.com for details on each of these requirements). After completing each of these requirements, you are eligible to submit your materials to the BACB for approval to sit for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination. Please note that the determination of the suitability of your materials to sit for the BCBA Examination is made solely by the BACB. The courses prescribed on this page a required to earn the BISCP certificate from KSU. Any graduate degree program must be created and approved by your advisor or advisory committee – a separate process from completing the BISCP course work sequence.
