The Center for Nursing Research has been the nucleus of research for the college since 1991. Although the center acquires most of their funding through external grants, internal funding is also essential to developing innovative research that may improve patient and systematic outcomes. Preference will be given to a woman with children or who must work while attending school. Gosnell Nursing Scholarship Scholarship support for a deserving BSN student taking clinical courses. Graham Haiti Mission Fund Support for students participating in medical mission trips to Haiti. International Nursing Academic Fund Support for College of Nursing international students for academic and international activities and programs. J. Mikkila CON Scholarship Support for nontraditional BSN students who have financial need or for those at risk. Jane G. Cunningham Accelerated Nursing Emergency Fund Support for accelerated nursing students with a minimum 3.4 GPA who have experienced a financial emergency and are finding it difficult to complete their education. Funds will be awarded to sophomore-level nursing students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for tuition, fees, books, and room and board. Mary Ellen Patton National Nursing Conference Fund Support for undergraduate nursing students to attend professional nursing association meetings. Funds can be used for registration fees and conference-related expenses. Online Journal of Issues in Nursing (OJIN) Nursing Scholarship Support for students in their senior year of undergraduate study or to graduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.7 who demonstrate research interest or who have an established research background. Race into the Finals Emergency Fund Support for undergraduate or graduate nursing students who have experienced a financial emergency. Treckel Nursing Scholarship Support for a nontraditional student with high academic performance who demonstrates leadership on campus. Undergraduate Nursing Study Abroad Fund Support for undergraduate nursing students with financial need to participate in a rigorous educational travel program. This scholarship covers tuition, fees, books and supplies, room and board, and travel expenses. Yoost and Crawford Nursing Scholarship Support for tuition, fees, room and board, or books for a junior-level nursing student with a GPA of 3.0 who has demonstrated outstanding performance in clinical nursing.
