All Continents
In a worldwide marketplace, Cooper Crouse-Hinds
provides solutions and products that are certified to meet
local standards. When it comes to quality, engineering
and service, however, our commitment to continuous
reinvention sets a global standard.
One Standard
We make over 100,000 products—to one standard
of excellence. We serve customers in diverse markets
—providing a uniform standard of service. And in the
coming year our products will be installed in refineries,
factories, skyscrapers and other facilities under the most
demanding conditions imaginable—and they will perform
to the highest standard of safety and reliability.
P1
The Global Standard
It’s a wide world, yet there’s room for just
one leader, and from product line to technical
expertise, that’s Cooper Crouse-Hinds.
Crouse-Hinds Condulet®
Original CEAG lamp
A New Leader
In 1897, the Gold Rush was well under way, the United
States raced to build its transportation infrastructure, and
the founders of Crouse-Hinds began manufacturing
trolley lamps in Syracuse, New York.
In 1912 the British government offered a prize to the person
who could design an acceptable electric safety lamp for miners.
A German engineer won the prize for the “CEAG” lamp.
These two companies quickly emerged as leaders in the
electrical industry, eventually joining together as one global
leader—dedicated to helping the world’s energy, transportation
and industrial sectors meet the new demands.
P2
For A New
Century
Today Cooper Crouse-Hinds has grown
into a diversified worldwide provider of
electrical products that perform reliably
and safely in harsh and hazardous
environments. And our leadership
in product innovation, engineering,
manufacturing, distribution and technical
support has become the benchmark
for entire industries.
Through organic growth and strategic acquisitions such as our 1996 addition of
CEAG, a world leader in explosion protection, Cooper Crouse-Hinds serves more
markets than ever before. Our products meet codes, standards and certifications
in rapidly growing regions throughout Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle
East. And our technical expertise, distribution and support services extend our
global reach.
Yet we are far more than a product supplier or solutions provider. For customers
across the world, we are a partner that integrates a comprehensive product line
with global distribution and technical support, industry insights and marketing
assistance. We devote extraordinary resources to listening to our customers—
to understanding their individual and evolving needs, the characteristics of their
markets, and the trends that influence them. Combining insights with innovation, we
not only stay in step with our customers, we keep miles ahead of the competition.

The more demanding the environment, the
likelier you are to find our products at the very
center of operations.
Safety &
Reliability
From fittings and enclosures to control and
apparatus, industrial lighting, plugs and
receptacles and signals and alarms, Cooper
Crouse-Hinds products don’t just meet safety
standards. More often than not, they set them.

everything we sell comes with a commitment
to proper installation and use.
P6
Tens of thousands of customers have turned to Cooper Crouse-Hinds for Hazardous
Location Training to support safer electrical system design, installation and maintenance in
forbidding conditions. Whether it’s on-site assistance or extensive training at our regional
facilities, our technical and hazardous expertise provides our customers the reassurance
that they not only have the right products, but they’re using them the right way.

The New Standard
In
Commercial
Products
The reputation for safety and reliability we have
cultivated in the industrial realm, Cooper Crouse-Hinds
also brings to our rapidly growing North American
Commercial Products electrical fittings business.
Champ® Luminaires with induction
light source deliver up to 100,000
hours of white light in a hazardous
location. That’s 11 years with no
lamp replacement costs.
It’s a business built on our conviction that service and sales expertise
are just as important to our customers’ success as providing the
highest-quality products. That’s why we stand ready with supply,
while partnering with our customers to meet their specific needs.
The Standard
For
Innovation
Whenever Cooper Crouse-Hinds develops a new product, system or
procedure, we focus on one overriding question: Will it lower the total cost
of ownership for distributors and end-users?
Cooper Crouse-Hinds has become a global leader across the industrial, commercial and
residential markets because of a strategic focus that combines the highest quality and reliability
with technical support to minimize downtime, reduce repair incidence, and spur growth.
Yet that’s just the beginning. We have become a model of innovation by closely monitoring our
equipment’s performance, soliciting customer development input, and practicing continuous
improvement to take immediate advantage of the knowledge we gain. The fact is, engineers
only have some of the answers. Sales people, support staff and customers are engines of new
ideas, and their insights are reflected in our every innovation.
Cooper Crouse-Hinds has a Manufacturing Variance Program (MVP) in place to combine
the attributes of 6 Sigma variance with lean manufacturing. This commitment to continuous
improvement and streamlined decision-making allows us to seize opportunity faster and serve
our customers better.
P8
CEAG eXLink® Connector Series can
be connected and disconnected in
hazardous areas without shutting
down power or obtaining a hot work
permit. This drastically reduces the
time required to install, maintain,
or repair electrical equipment in
hazardous environments.
The Standard
For
Worldwide
Expertise
Fast-growing industrial and commercial customers alike
need international partners who can help them adapt to local
requirements, and Cooper Crouse-Hinds’ global capabilities
and local expertise streamline their expansion.
The breadth and depth of our product lines make us the single source for
electrical and safety equipment, whether a customer is building a refinery in
China, a factory in Sao Paolo, or a city in the Arabian Gulf.
Backing up our product portfolio is a highly trained distribution network, along
with a dedicated sales and customer service organization, worldwide marketing
assistance, and industry experts who specialize in helping our customers
expand their market share. To ensure a deep understanding of the market’s
needs and how to respond with innovative products and services, Cooper
Crouse-Hinds has individuals in place to focus on specific vertical markets,
including global energy, marine, mining and alternative fuels. After all, growth
opportunities transcend borders, and so does Cooper Crouse-Hinds.

A Standard for
The
Future
A cursory look reveals just a fraction of our capabilities, because behind
Cooper Crouse-Hinds is the power of Cooper Industries, a worldwide
manufacturer of electrical products, tools and hardware whose divisions
share a common marketing and selling platform for our customers.
P12
By any measure—from the strength of
our technical team, to the breadth of
our product line and robustness of our
global channel—Cooper Crouse-Hinds
marshals massive resources on behalf
of our customers.
The Cooper Crouse-Hinds of today scarcely resembles the company that invented
the Condulet over 100 years ago or manufactured only electrical infrastructure
equipment in decades past.
By leveraging our technological acumen and entrepreneurial spirit, by partnering
even more closely with our customers to reduce their costs of ownership, and by
honing our operational capabilities across the world, we will continue to lead—
wherever opportunity beckons.
