TADASHI ONODERA Mr. TADASHI ONODERA is President and Chairman of KDDI Corporation, a full-range of telecommunications operator in Japan. He became vice president when KDDI was established (merger of DDI, KDD and IDO) in Oct. 2000 and was nominated for the current position from June 2001. After receiving Bachelor of Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Tohoku University, he has been consistently engaged in wireless communications. He pursued as a founder of DDI, a new common carrier which made an entry to long distance field in 1984 owing to the deregulation of telecommunications. He was Director & General Manager of Microwave Engineering (in 1989), and was Executive Vice President and Senior General Manager of mobile communications (in 1998). His experience is based on his ability as a technical expert, but includes many approaches toward customer satisfaction. He delivered speeches on KDDI’s advanced concept at ITU Telecom World 2003 (Keynote, Business Session), Telecom Asia 2002 (Keynote, Plenary), WSIS Geneva 2003 (round table), WSIS Tunis 2005 (Plenary), and Telecom World 2006 Hong Kong (Speaker, Plenary).
