Dr. Sven Rohte studied Business at the Universities of Marburg and Trier (Germany)
with a specialisation in strategic management and organization. In his role as Chief
Commercial Officer at Thuraya he is responsible for further developing the global
business of Thuraya. Dr. Sven has a professional track record of more than 10 years
in the Telecommunication and Mobile Satellite Industry, especially in the fields of
business transformation, marketing, sales, customer care and corporate strategy.
Prior to joining Thuraya he was Vice President at Detecon International (Bonn
German and Abu Dhabi, UAE) and a Principal at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants
Middle East (Manama, Bahrain). He is a Board Member of the German Business
Council in Abu Dhabi and Member of the Board of Trustees of the German Emirati
Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK).
