WARNING
To avoid product degradation:
Do not operate in ambient temperatures above those indicated on the luminaire
nameplate.
Use proper supply wiring as specified on the luminaire nameplate.
Avoid use in environments containing sulfur, chlorine or other halides, methyl
acetate or ethyl acetate, cyanoacrylates, glycol ethers, formaldehyde or butadiene.
Mount luminaire no less than 36 inches from ceiling.
Make sure the supply voltage is within the voltage range stated on the nameplate.
Use only replacement parts from Crouse-Hinds.
Aircraft cable mounting is recommended for dry locations only.
Use only Crouse-Hinds or equivalent parts for mounting luminaire.
INSTALLATION – PENDANT MOUNT
1.
2.
3.
4.
Install the pendant mount bracket with the hardware provided, four (4) ¼-20
screws and four (4) ¼-20 nuts (see Figure 1). Center the pendant mount
bracket on the luminaire (see Figure 1). Measure from each end of the
luminaire to the edge of the pendant mount on each side. The distance from
side to side should be equal or within 1/16” to each other. Tighten the ¼-20
screws to 65 in.-lbs. and tighten the 10-24 screws to 21 in.-lbs. DO NOT
REMOVE MOUNTING TAB RETENTION SCREWS. If mounting tab retention
screws are removed, make sure to re-install and tighten to 65 in.-lbs. torque.
Thread the locknut onto the ¾” NPT conduit threads as far up the threads as
possible.
Place the luminaire onto the conduit at the hole located in the center of the
pendant mount bracket. Install the throat bushing onto the conduit and rotate
the luminaire to the correct position. Tighten the throat bushing first (42 ft.lbs.) and then the lock nut (hand tight plus a quarter turn). After tightening both
wrench tight, tighten the set screw to 9 in.-lbs.
Remove all four (4) screws from the end cap of the luminaire closest to the
wiring entry gland. Install the SOOW cable from the conduit into the cord grip
and connect the input wires to the driver input wires of the luminaire according
to the wiring diagram (see Figure 5). For dimmer applications, remove plug
from driver housing cover and use a separate cord grip wire according to the
wiring diagram (see Figure 5). Tighten cord grip(s) wrench tight to secure
wires into place. Install the driver housing end cap and tighten the four (4)
screws until bottomed.

•
Secondary retention may be considered for pendant mount applications for
added security and is recommended in applications where high vibrations are
present. Four (4) additional holes are included on the pendant mount bracket
that may be used for secondary retention and either the aircraft cable (in dry
locations) and jack chain mounts are suitable for this purpose.
AIRCRAFT CABLE
WARNING
AIRCRAFT CABLE MOUNTING IS INTENDED FOR DRY LOCATIONS ONLY.
1.
2.
3.
Mounting tabs are located 1” from each end of the luminaire from the factory.
If mounting tabs need to be relocated or become loose, tighten the 10-24
screws to 21 in.-lbs. (see Figure 2) before hanging the luminaire. Mounting
tab retention bolts should be tightened to 65 in.-lbs. in all four corners of the
luminaire. Mounting tabs should be placed equal distance from the ends of
the luminaire to ensure the luminaire hangs level.
Install two (2) aircraft cable assemblies to the luminaire with one aircraft cable
assembly at each end of the luminaire as shown in Figure 2. Do not exceed
an angle greater than 30° between the cables and the gravity line. Adjust
the length of the aircraft cable assembly to ensure the luminaire hangs level.
Mount the luminaire a minimum of 36 inches away from the ceiling. Refer to
B-Line FIS-164 Instruction Sheet for further details and information.
Use the factory installed wire (SOOW cable) for electrical connection to the
appropriate junction connection. See WIRING section for more information.

An additional hole is available in the driver housing cover for external dimming
control. Remove the plug from the cover and install the appropriate cord grip
along with the cable.
Perform required wiring to input power and dimming connections.
Re-install the driver housing end cap and tighten screws until bottomed. If
driver housing cover is removed, re-install both end caps and tighten screws

DRIVER REPLACEMENT
1.
2.
Disconnect supply power and ensure luminaire is cool.
For pendant mounted luminaires, remove the luminaire from the bracket for
easier servicing. All other mounting options can be serviced without removing
luminaire from mounting.
3. Remove the driver housing cover to access wires by removing all eight (8)
screws from both end caps of the luminaire driver housing.
4. Slide the driver housing cover toward the LED heat sinks and tilt the cover up
to gain access to the driver input wires (see Figure 6).
5. Disconnect driver wires and remove driver from fixture.
6. Place new driver(s) in proper location within driver housing and install the four
(4) 8-32 screws per driver and tighten to 19 in.-lbs.
7.
Reconnect driver wiring according to the wiring diagram.
8. Re-install cover onto driver housing with proper alignment.
9. Re-install end caps. Tighten all eight (8) 10-24 screws until bottomed.
10. For pendant mounting, install the luminaire referring to the installation
instructions in this document.

Perform visual, electrical and mechanical inspections on a regular basis. The
environment and frequency of use should determine this. However, it is
recommended that checks be made at least once a year. We recommend an
Electrical Preventive Maintenance Program as described in the National Fire
Protection Association Bulletin NFPA No. 70B: Recommended Practice For
Electrical Equipment Maintenance (www.nfpa.org).
The lens should be cleaned periodically to ensure continued lighting
performance. To clean, wipe the lens with a clean, damp cloth. If this is not
sufficient, use a mild soap or a liquid cleaner such as Collinite NCF or Duco #7. Do not use an abrasive, strong alkaline, or acid cleaner. Damage may result.
Visually check for undue heating evidenced by discoloration of wires or other
components, damaged parts or leakage evidenced by water or corrosion in
the interior. Replace all worn, damaged or malfunctioning components before
putting the luminaire back into service.
Electrically check to make sure that all connections are clean and tight.
Mechanically check that all parts are properly assembled.
Luminaire should be dusted periodically to avoid build-up of dust and
overheating the fixture.
All statements, technical information and recommendations contained herein are based on information and tests we believe to be reliable. The accuracy or completeness
thereof are not guaranteed. In accordance with Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds Division’s “Terms and Conditions of Sale,” and since conditions of use are outside our control, the
purchaser should determine the suitability of the product for his intended use and assumes all risk and liability whatsoever in connection therewith.
