Eaton’s Area Luminaire Offers an Efficient, Low-Maintenance Solution With
Savings Greater Than 85 Percent in Security Applications
PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. … Power management company Eaton today announced the
introduction of the Lumark Caretaker™ light-emitting diode (LED) Area Luminaire from
its Cooper Lighting Division. Utilizing high-efficiency LED technology with precision-molded
optics, the Caretaker luminaire provides exceptional performance, offering greater than 85
percent in annual energy and maintenance savings compared to traditional high intensity
discharge (HID) products. With its rugged construction and versatile mounting options, the
Caretaker luminaire is ideal for area and dusk-to-dawn security lighting applications.
“The Lumark Caretaker luminaire not only delivers exceptional light output, but serves as a
versatile, low-cost, low maintenance solution our customers demand for a wide range of
security lighting applications,” said Mark Eubanks, president of Eaton’s Cooper Lighting
Division. “Its LED optics deliver a wide, uniform distribution with excellent vertical illumination
for maximum light coverage and years of worry-free illumination.”
Designed to replace up to 175-watt high intensity discharge (HID) fixtures, the Lumark
Caretaker consumes only 50 watts while delivering more than 5,200 powerful lumens. Not
only does this offer ample lighting, it also allows more than 85 percent in annual energy and
maintenance savings. With lumen maintenance greater than 84 percent at 36,000 hours, the
Caretaker luminaire is virtually maintenance-free for over 15 years.
The Caretaker luminaire also includes a versatile universal mounting design that allows for

quick and easy installation in a single step, while a hinged power tray door and a single,
captive screw allows for safe and easy access when making electrical connections. As a wallmounted or pole-mounted security lighting solution, it can satisfy security needs for residential
street lighting, perimeter area lighting and safety lighting for parking areas, loading platforms,
boat docks, access drives or pathways.
The Caretaker fixture is 3G vibration rated and can withstand tough weather conditions with
the heavy-duty die-cast, aluminum housing. The LED module compartment is rated for
Ingress Protection 66. The fixture is wet location listed in operation ranging from applications
from minus 40 to 40 degrees Celsius ensuring continued performance in extreme weather.
The luminaire is available in 5,000 Kelvin correlated color temperature.
