Cooper Industries to Demonstrate Range of
Solar Solutions at Intersolar North America 2010
Solar offerings include power management, circuit management and protection, and wiring and
mounting products, including the new ARISTATM solar commercial rooftop mounting system.
DUBLIN, July 13, 2010 – Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE), a global provider of electrical products
and solutions, today announced it will exhibit its solar mounting and wiring, power management, and
circuit management and protection solutions at Intersolar North America 2010, July 13-15, at the
Moscone Center in San Francisco.
Building on its history of expertise and innovation, Cooper develops solutions that help decrease overall
installation and ongoing maintenance costs of solar systems. Multiple Cooper divisions, including
Cooper B-Line, Cooper Bussmann, Cooper Crouse-Hinds and Cooper Power Systems, will showcase
Cooper’s breadth of solar products at Intersolar Booth #7558.
As Cooper’s latest solar offering, Cooper B-Line will introduce the ARISTATM commercial rooftop
mounting system at the event. This cost-effective and easy to install solar PV mounting system features
standard electrical components and no loose hardware. The ARISTATM system’s pre-assembled frames
effectively angle solar PV panels in the optimal position for maximum performance. With a high degree
of flexibility, the ARISTATM system can be used for landscape or portrait mounting of PV panels for both
ballasted and positively tied solutions. In addition to ARISTATM, Cooper B-Line offers a comprehensive
set of custom engineered solutions for mounting solar PV panels in ground, commercial roof and openstructure applications. Also, a designated Cooper B-Line Solar Team is available to help customers to
meet their cost per watt requirements for various solar energy applications.

Adding to Cooper’s range of solar options, Cooper Bussmann and Cooper Crouse-Hinds offer combiner
box solutions that provide the housing to combine and connect the conductors from several arrays or
solar panels into one main bus or feed.
Cooper Bussmann is the single source for the solar power system circuit protection and switching
package, from the array to the utility, enhanced with application expertise and fast shipment. The
Cooper Bussmann DC safety switch provides application flexibility while adhering to the unique
requirements of solar power production. Fast-acting solar fuses, designed to meet new UL Listed
photovoltaic (PV) fuse standards, handle extreme cycling conditions as well as low magnitude
overloads.
For larger commercial and utility-scale projects, count on Cooper Power Systems to reliably and
efficiently deliver power to the utility grid. Cooper Power Systems offers high efficiency solar GSU
transformers, cooled with Envirotemp FR3 soy oil based dielectric fluid; specially designed with inverter
technology and energy harvest in mind. In addition to medium-voltage transformers, a full line of
molded rubber parts and substation products such as capacitors, arresters, relays, switchgear, and
automation communication systems ensure that the quality of the electricity generated meets the grid
interconnection requirements.
Finally, for remote applications, solar kits from Cooper Crouse-Hinds eliminate the need for expensive
utility power investments. Solar kits are installed in weatherproof enclosures to withstand harsh weather
conditions and high wind loads.
"Our combined experience and innovation continue to set us apart from other companies, especially
when it comes to fulfilling complete balance of system needs," said Cooper Industries CEO Kirk
Hachigian. "From power management, circuit management and protection, and wiring and mounting
products, we're eager to share our breadth of solar industry solutions at Intersolar."
Representatives from Cooper Industries and its divisions will be on hand throughout Intersolar.
