400HZ SINGLE JACKET CABLE
Cooper Interconnect Family of 400 Hz Command Plus Cables
The Command Plus cable series was developed by Cooper Interconnect in the mid 1980s.
The most unique quality of our single-jacketed 400 Hz. cable is the elimination of a center
conductor. The Command Plus uses one conductor per phase, and the neutral returns the
unbalanced load from the aircraft to the power supply.
Cooper Interconnect research discovered that center components are prone to elongation failures. In cables with center neutral, the length of the cable is the length of neutral. It must
stretch when the cable is coiled, eventually leading to elongation failure. This failure, or loss
of neutral, results in an unbalanced load, which can conduct an extremely dangerous charge
to the skin of the aircraft.
All Command Plus cable conductors are wrapped around a non-critical center filler and are
all cabled in the same direction. The conductors, including the neutral, can flex without
stretching any one component, resulting in a safe work environment.
