Toddi Steelman is an Associate Professor of Environmental and Natural Resource Policy in the
Department of Forestry at North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on the role and function of public and community involvement within the larger context of environmental governance. Dr. Steelman holds a Ph.D. in environmental and natural resource policy from Duke
University, an MPA in public policy from Princeton University, and a BA in international studies and political science from West Virginia University. She is the author of numerous articles and book chapters that address aspects of community and public involvement in watershed remediation, land and open space protection, national forest management, community forestry, climate change, and wildfire.
