ACCEPTING RESUMES Garden Manager OhioMeansJobs Post# 3159242 Position: Job Description: Company/ Work Address: Ashtabula County Community Action Agency Hours/Shift: Part time 5-10 hours a week/ Seasonal – Monday through Sunday 1st and 2nd shift Hourly Wage: $9.25 - $10.00 Prior to Hire Requirements: Background Check, Drug Screen, Driver’s License Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Garden Maintenance and Operation: Supervising and ensuring the physical maintenance, improvement and upkeep of the Garden Conducting regular inventory of tools, supplies and assets Maintaining a daily work-log to plan and record details of field work accomplished Performing entry of data pertaining to planting, temperature/weather, pest and disease management, harvest, produce distribution and other information as needed Volunteer Management/Community Engagement: Developing sources of potential volunteers from the community Recruiting, orienting, scheduling and supervising a sufficient number of volunteers Communication regularly with volunteer gardeners and alerting them to growing and maintenance issues and events at the Garden, to include assigning and monitoring the performance of chores Building and maintaining an internal and external network of relationships with partners Administration: Monitoring and tacking hours of service for volunteers and gardeners Assisting with the marketing of the Garden Performing special projects and other duties as assigned. Contributing to the Garden’s website and newsletter Providing written acknowledgement and appreciation for all donations to the Garden Making recommendations as to areas of improvement for the Garden and possible grant opportunities. Capable of planning and organizing work, managing multiple functions, prioritizing tasks. Proficiently skilled in general computer use including word processing and email Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions Demonstrate patience with volunteers, neighborhood children and donors Experience working with programs designed to end or alleviate poverty, promote economic stability, enhance the community and improve quality of life Confidentiality in all aspects of program operation must be maintained Reliable transportation.
