GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the development and implementation of public awareness and child find activities
for the Community Action Home Visiting program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop, coordinate and conduct public awareness activities in accordance with the Ashtabula
County Home Visiting Targeted Messaging and Outreach Plan.
2. Develop, coordinate and conduct child find activities in accordance with the Ashtabula County Home
Visiting Targeted Messaging and Outreach Plan.
3. Develop and coordinate partnerships with other health care and social service providers and
community resources.
4. Assure compliance with Agency and HMG/MIECHV policies and procedures.
5. Complete and submit reports and communications required by the Ashtabula County Family and
Children First Council, the Ohio Department of Health, ACCAA and other entities as determined.
6. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
7. Demonstrate cultural competency and advocate for potential HMG/MIECHV eligible families to insure
that parent/child rights are upheld and that ethical practices are adhered to at all times.
8. Maintain client confidentiality as required by the Ohio Department of Health and ACCAA policies.
Company/Location: Ashtabula County Community Action Agency / 3225 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, OH 44004
Hours/Shift: Part time, temporary/ 1st Shift Monday – Friday
Salary: $11.50/hr
Prior to Hire Requirements: Background Check, Drug Screen, Driver’s License
Desired
Skills:
Associate’s degree in Early Childhood or related field preferred. Must have demonstrated ability to work
with low-income individuals and groups. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skill. Must
be proficient in general computer use. Must have knowledge of or ability to master utilization of all
necessary computer software and database programs. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may
include evenings and weekends. Must portray a neat, professional appearance.
Must work harmoniously with other staff, be courteous, neat, organized and have legible penmanship.
Must have dependable transportation, a valid Ohio driver’s license, meet agency insurance guidelines,
pass a criminal background check and pass a drug test.
Must be able to physically interact with children including talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch and
crawl. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Tasks may involve unplanned or procedure specific exposure to
body fluids and possible exposure to communicable diseases. Must maintain universal precautions at all
times. Risk involved with periodic travel on main highways and rural roads.
