CONTRACT AMENDMENT NO. 4
THE JAMES AND GRACE LEE BOGGS SCHOOL
In accordance with Article IX of the Terms and Conditions of the Contract ("Contract"), dated
July 1, 2013, between EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY BOARD OF REGENTS
("University Board") and THE JAMES AND GRACE LEE BOGGS SCHOOL (the
"Academy"), the parties agree to amend the Contract by: 1) amending the Academy's
Application and Enrollment of Students document (Schedule 7f) to change the Academy's grade
range, and 2) amending the Age and/or Grade Range of Pupils document (Schedule 7h) to
expand the Academy's grade range to include Grade 7.
Therefore, the parties make the following amendments to the Contract:

Schedule 7f, titled, Application and Enrollment of Students, is hereby amended in the
following way: The "Enrollment Limits" paragraph of the document is amended to state
as follows: "The Academy will offer kindergarten through seventh grade. The maximum
enrollment shall be 112 students. The Academy will annually adopt maximum
enrollment figures prior to its application and enrollment period."
Schedule 7h, titled, "Age and/or Grade Range of Pupils" is hereby deleted in its entirety
and replaced with the attached document, titled, "Age & Grade Range."
All relevant documents are attached to this Amendment.
This Amendment shall take immediate effect.
This Amendment is hereby approved by the University Board and the Academy through their
authorized designees.

Resolution of the Board of Directors
Resolution requesting a Contract Amendment
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article IX of the Contract between Eastern Michigan University and
the The James and Grace Lee Boggs School Board which provides for amendments to the
Contract; and
WHEREAS, Section 9.1 Amendments provides that the University Board and the Academy
acknowledge that the operation and administration of a public school academy and the
improvement of educational outcomes over time will require appropriate amendment of this
contract; and
WHEREAS, Section 9.2 Process for Amendment Initiated by the Academy provides that the
Academy, by the majority vote of its Board of Directors may propose specific changes in the
Contract or may propose a meeting to discuss potential revision of this Contract. The proposal
will be made to the University Board through its designee; and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 9.4 Final Approval of Amendments, amendments to the
Contract take effect only after they have been approved by the Academy Board and the
University Board or its designee; and
WHEREAS, this Board, by majority vote, has determined that the Academy; beginning with the
2016-2017 academic year: will amend the charter to limit enrollment to the same numbers as
2015-16 while still adding an additional grade (7).
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Academy Board declares that, pending approval
of Eastern Michigan University Board OfRegents or its designee, the Contract should be
amended as necessary.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Executive Director is authorized to propose and/or
negotiate the Contract Amendment, and Academy Board President is authorized to execute a
Contract Amendment effectuating the purposes set forth in the re lution on behalf of the Public
School Academy Board.
