Broad Run Expansion Fact Sheet Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company (TGP), a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan, Inc., is proposing the Broad Run Expansion project to expand transportation capacity of natural gas on its existing TGP system. This project includes the construction of two new compressor stations in Kanawha County, West Virginia, one new compressor station in Davidson County, Tennessee, and one new compressor station in Madison County, Kentucky. TGP also expects to increase compression capacity by modifying two of its existing compressor stations in Powell and Boyd counties in Kentucky. TGP began preliminary planning work on the project in 2014, including holding an open season and conducting initial site analysis, outreach, surveying, engineering and permitting activities. The over $400 million project is expected to generate approximately 400 construction jobs at its peak. The economic impact of construction for the project would be significant as workers will reside locally and rely upon local businesses, housing and support services during the construction period. The estimated annual revenue to state and local taxing bodies will be nearly $5 million following completion of the project. A number of federal and state agencies will be involved with the approval and oversight of the project, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
