InVision Tampa Presenter: City of Tampa In 2010, the City of Tampa was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to develop a corridor master plan for the Nebraska-Hillsborough Avenue Primary Transit Corridor and a Downtown Area Conceptual Master Plan for the urban core. In October 2011, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) was asked to assist in developing a vision and master plan for the city’s urban core. The ULI Advisory Panel presented its findings on Tampa's opportunities and challenges, as well as development strategies and best practices for implementation of the recommendations. The overall effort, called InVision Tampa, will establish priorities for the future and provide a road map to stimulate economic development, and spur community reinvestment, while preserving historic districts and neighborhood character. Adaptation Planning for Sea Level Rise: Analysis and Decision Support Tools Presenter: Dr. Zhong-Ren Peng Dept. of Urban and Regional Planning, University of Florida Dr. Peng will introduce two research grant projects that were funded by NOAA via Sea Grants program to study adaptation planning for sea level rise in the Tampa Bay area: one focuses on cost-benefit analysis of different adaptation strategies and the other on the development of visualization and decision support tools for adaptation planning. 2 One Bay Livable Communities Working Group – Meeting Agenda 3. TBARTA Land Use Working Group, One Bay Technical Team, and TBRPC Regional Planning Advisory Committee Consolidation Presenters: Avera Wynne, Planning Director, TBRPC Jennifer Willman, Project Manager, Jacobs For the past two years or more, the three referenced groups have been meeting together. The meetings had been staffed by TBARTA and its consultants as a majority of the meeting items were related to the TBARTA Master Plan and related activities. TBRPC will assume the staffing of the combined committee activities and the activities of the TBARTA Land Use Working Group and the TBRPC Regional Planning Advisory Committee will be conducted via the One Bay Livable Communities Working Group. 4. Regional Round-up Presenters: Working Group Participants Please come prepared to share new planning initiatives or update ongoing activities that further the One Bay Livable Communities Vision and Guiding Principles. 5. Next Meeting – August 3, 2012 The next Working Group meeting tentatively set for August 3, 2012 at 9:30.
