1. InVision Tampa
Presenter:
City of Tampa
In 2010, the City of Tampa was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) to develop a corridor master plan for the Nebraska-Hillsborough Avenue Primary
Transit Corridor and a Downtown Area Conceptual Master Plan for the urban core. In October 2011, the
Urban Land Institute (ULI) was asked to assist in developing a vision and master plan for the city’s urban
core. The ULI Advisory Panel presented its findings on Tampa's opportunities and challenges, as well as
development strategies and best practices for implementation of the recommendations. The overall
effort, called InVision Tampa, will establish priorities for the future and provide a road map to stimulate
economic development, and spur community reinvestment, while preserving historic districts and
neighborhood character. A series of community meetings and social media outreach will occur in April
and May 2012. For details and the latest news and meeting dates, please visit
